Smile Design

Unhappy with your smile, shape of your teeth or just one tooth? Using the latest technology we can change your smile. This process is known as smile design and proceeds in the following manner.

  • Initial consultation
  • Diagnostic wax preview
  • Preparation and temporary restoration
  • Final Restoration

Initial consultation
This is a scheduled appointment were we gather all the information we need to improve your smile. X-rays, photographs and impressions will be taken to analyze your smile and we will discuss with you what you really want, giving you written estimates of costs for the various types of crowns or veneers we offer, tailoring everything to your budget. We guarantee there will be no hidden charges the price we give you will be the price you will be asked to pay.

Diagnostic wax preview
At this visit we will have analyzed your smile and on accurate models of your mouth created your new smile in wax. At this stage if you are not happy any modifications can be made. We can also temporarily apply these changes to your teeth so you can see how our proposed treatment affects your overall appearance.

Preparation and temporary restoration
After preparation of your teeth the dentist will place temporary restorations on your teeth that will match your new smile. Adjustments may be made at this point to the length and shape of your teeth to achieve a harmonious balance between your teeth lips and tongue.

Final Restoration
The final restorations are made by Colin and Mark at A-line Dental Ceramics who use their artistic skill in combination with your dentist, diagnostic wax up, models of your provisional restorations and photographs to produce truly lifelike restorations.
Theses restorations are then placed at this visit were small adjustments are normally made to ensure you are happy with new smile.

One week after this visit we normally ask to see you again to make sure you are truly happy with your smile. Any further adjustments will be made and final photographs taken.
