pain, bleeding or swelling please telephone your
practice for an emergency appointment. We will usually
give you an appointment within several hours. There
is a £15.50 charge
for each emergency appointment on the NHS. This service
is free to our monthly payment plan members.

My tooth hurts after a filling-
this is normal take some painkillers and it should
settle after 2-3 days If it does not please contact
your dentist.

My tooth is throbbing and keeps
me awake at night- contact the surgery immediately
for help

My face is swollen- contact the
surgery immediately

The back of my mouth hurts
were a new tooth is coming in –this generally
needs antibiotics please contact the surgery
immediately

I am swollen and in pain after
some dental surgery. - This too is normal and should
subside after 2-3 days take painkillers as directed
by your dentist.

My tooth has been knocked out-
find the tooth and keep it in milk or in your mouth,
go straight to the surgery were it may be successfully
re-implanted if within 30 minutes from the accident

My tooth has snapped – if
you are in pain call the surgery immediately
for an emergency appointment otherwise a routine
appointment will suffice our trained receptionists
will advise you.

My Crown has come off– this
is generally not regarded as an emergency however
we will endeavor to give you an appointment that
day providing we have capacity.

I had a tooth
out and I am know in agony- please contact the
surgery as it is probably a dry socket .
